Step 1 – Go to the Wisconsin Secretary of State.
Step 2 – The most popular way to look-up an LLC is to use the default option by organization name. Although, if you would like to Search by Registered Agent or would like to check to see if a company name exists you may do so as well.
Helpful Tip – If you are conducting a query by name, it is highly advised that you use as many keywords as possible. The database will return all entities that match your terms entered.
Step 3 – On the results page, you will be able to see all matching listings in alphabetical order. You will be able to see a preview of the company’s ID Number, Type, Effective Date, and the Date of it’s last update. Click on the blue text link to see all the information located with the Secretary of State about the Limited Liability Company.
Step 4 – You have completed your search and are now able to view all the information about the LLC including it’s ID Number, Existence Period, Status, Date, Type, Annual Report Requirements, Registered Agent Office, Registered Agent Name, and Annual Reports.
