Step 1 – Go to the Wisconsin Secretary of State.
Step 2 – Type in the name of the corporation you are trying to find in the top box. Make sure the terms you select are unique or descriptive to ensure that the least amount of results appear as the database will match all related entities.
Advanced Search – Use this if you know the name of the registered agent or would like to narrow down by using the options.
Name Availability – Use this tool if you are seeking to incorporate and want to know if the name you have selected has already been taken.
Step 3 – You will be brought immediately to the Results Page that will allow you to see a preview of the matching entities including it’s ID Number, Type, Registered Effective Date, and the Status. When you find your intended corporation, click on the name (blue text link) and you will be brought to the ‘Information Page‘.
Step 4 – You have concluded your search and now are able to view all the data on file with the Secretary of State including the Corporation’s ID Number, Period of Existence, Status, Annual Report Requirements, Registered Agent Name, Registered Agent Office Address, and Principal Office Address.
If you are the owner or representative – You may file an Annual Report, Request a Certificate of Status, and Update Registered Agent Information.
