Step 1 – Go to the New Mexico Secretary of State.
Step 2 – When looking for your LLC whether it be for owner’s information or to check the name availability, you can search by:
Name – This is the most common. The best approach is to add as many keywords as possible to ensure that the results are narrowed down. The database will return all matching entities with your terms entered.
NMPRC Number – Number issued after formation of a company.
Director – A person that either owns or manages the company.
Registered Agent – Often referred to as the legal representative (Does not mean the owner) of the business.
Step 3 – On the results page, you are able to view the LLC’s: NMSCC Number, Name, Type, Status, and if you click on the red text link on the right side of the page listed as ‘Select’ you will be able to view more information.
Step 4 – You have completed your search and are now able to see all the information listed with the company such as: NMSCC Number, Formation Date, State of Formation, Fiscal Year Date, Report Due Date, Registered Agent Data, Officers, Directors, Members, and the Principal Office Address.
Reserve an LLC Name in New Mexico
Use this form to reserve a company name before formation of the business. The named will be saved for your use for one hundred and twenty (120) days.
Step 1 – Download and complete the application form.
Step 2 – Attach the $20 filing fee and send to the Secretary of State located at:
