Search the Montana Secretary of State Entity Database and Look-up the following: Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLC), Limited Partnerships (LP), and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP). Use this tool to also verify if a name is available for use when incorporating.
Step 1 – Go to the Montana Secretary of State.
Step 3 – When conducting your query, you will want to write as many terms and be as descriptive as possible in order to limit the amount of results that appear. The database will return all entities that contain the keywords entered.
Step 4 – On the results page, you will be allowed to preview the Name, Type, City/State, and Status of the corporation. Click on Name in the the blue text link. This will bring you to the Information Page.
Step 5 – Your search is now complete. Here you are able to see the Entity’s: ID Number, Type, Jurisdiction State, Status, Status Reason, Incorporation Date, Last AR Filed, Suspension (if any), Inactive Date (if any), Dissolution Date (if any), Term, Shares, Purpose Code, Registered Agent Name, and Registered Agent Address.
The princicpals (officers, directors, members, managers, partners, etc.) are not available to see for free, if you would like this data, you will be charged $2.
If you would like to view the Certificate of Fact, you will be charged $15.
