Step 1 – Go to the Montana Secretary of State.
Step 2 – When searching by name, be sure to use as many keywords as possible to slim the results down as much as possible. When typing in your LLC name, the database will return every entity that contains the terms typed. So, if you enter a basic name, chances are you will be sorting through hundreds if not thousands of entities.
Step 3 – On the results page, you will see a list of entities that contain your keywords as well as a preview of their Type, City/State (of Principal Office), and their Status with the Secretary of State. CLick on the name in the capitalized blue text to open and go to the information page.
Step 4 – You have concluded your search. Here you are able to view the company’s: ID Number, How it is Managed, Jurisdiction State, Status, Expiration Date, Date of Formation, Last Annual Report Filed, Principal Office Address, Registered Agent Name, and Registered Agent Address.
