Step 1 – Go to the Mississippi Secretary of State.
Step 2 – When searching for your corporation, you may search by the following ways:
Business Name – Most popular way to lookup an entity.
Registered Agent – Otherwise known as the legal representative of the entity.
New Corporations – You will have to create an account and login to use this feature.
Step 3 – When searching by name, you want to be as descriptive as possible in order to narrow down the results from the Secretary of State. You may search by name either: starting with, all words, any words, sounds like, and exact match. If you keep the default (starting with) the system will return all entities that match the terms entered.
Step 4 – When looking at the results, the you will be given a preview of the Entity’s: Name, Business ID, Type, Status, and Incorporation Date. Click on the name or charter number when you have found your corporation in order to view all the information in the database.
Step 5 – You have reached the completion of your search, you may now view all public data about the corporation including: State of Jurisdiction, Principal Office Address, Registered Agent Name, Registered Agent Address, Officers, Directors, and if you are the owner the option to file an Annual Report.
