Step 1 – Go to the Minnesota Secretary of State.
Step 2 – You are able to search for an LLC by it’s Entity Name or File Number. If searching by name, it is highly recommended that you include as many keywords as you can in order to narrow down the results. The system query and return all results matching your search terms.
Step 3 – When sorting through the list of results you will hope to find your company by name but the Secretary of State also gives you a preview of the Status, Type, and Name Type. If you look on the right part of the page you will see a blue text link titled ‘Details’. Click on that and you will be brought to the Entity Information Page that will have all the data on record about the LLC.
Step 4 – You have concluded your search and have access to all the public information on file with the Secretary of State. View the company’s; File Number, Filing Date, Renewal Due Date, Registered Agent Name, Registered Agent Office Address, Active Status, Principal Office Address, and Filing History.
*If you are the owner of the LLC you may file an amendment, renew the entity, or order a certificate online.
