Search the Michigan Secretary of State (LARA) System by looking up Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (LLC), Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP), and Limited Partnerships (LP). This tool helps to find business owner information and to make sure an applicant is not incorporating under an Entity name that already exists.
Step 1 – Go to the Michigan Secretary of State.
Step 2 – You have the option to lookup a Michigan corporation by Name, Keyword, or Identification Number. The most popular way to search is by name and it is highly recommended that a user types in as many terms as possible to narrow the results. All entities that contain the keywords typed will appear on the results page.
Step 3 – You will be brought to your results page where you will be able to view the Entity’s Name, ID Number, and the Type. You will want to click on the name that is a blue text link once you have found your corporation. This will bring you to the Entity Details Page.
Step 4 – You have completed your search and can now view all the information listed with the Secretary of State. You are able to view the corporation’s; ID Number, Name, Type, Registered Agent Name, Registered Agent Address, Principal Office Address, Incorporation Date, State of Jurisdiction, Number of Shares, Year of Most Recent Annual Report, and Status.
