Step 1 – Go to the Georgia Secretary of State and Scroll Down.
Step 2 – You will be able to search for your by: Name, Control Number, Document Number, or the Registered Agent’s Name (RA Name). For our example, we will be searching the name ‘georgia’. This will gives us many results but you may want to specify as much as you can to narrow down and find the company you are trying to find.
Step 3 – As you can see our results came back with over 250 with the keyword ‘georgia’ in it as expected. In the results, we are able to get a quick-view of the LLC’s: Control Number, Effective Date, Status, and Locale.

Step 4 – Your search is now complete and you are able to view entire history of an LLC with the Secretary of State. This allows you to see all filings the entity has made through the years as well as see the Registered Agent and Member names and addresses.
How to Create an LLC in Georgia
Step 1 – Download or File Online the Articles of Organization Below:
Domestic – File Online – This form allows a person to register a new company. Must have a principal office address in Georgia.
Foreign – Download – There is no way to file a foreign LLC online with the Secretary of State at this time. Complete this form.
Step 2 – If filing online, the domestic entity will cost $100. If filing a foreign, the fee of $225 must be attached to the document and sent to: OFFICE OF SECRETARY OF STATE, CORPORATIONS DIVISION, 237 Coliseum Drive, Macon, Georgia 31217-3858.
